Modern, editorial wedding photographer Scotland calm, stylish, and never awkward
I photograph weddings across Scotland for couples who care about how their photos look but don’t want their day turned into a photoshoot.
My approach sits somewhere between documentary wedding photography and modern editorial photography. I’m there for the atmosphere, the in-between moments and everything that happens naturally, while making time for portraits that feel a little more intentional.
The result is a gallery that feels like your wedding, not a collection of poses. Natural when it should be, considered when it needs to be.

Documentary moments, editorial portraits
Your wedding should still feel like your wedding. I’m there to photograph the atmosphere, the people you love and all the moments you might otherwise miss, while creating space for portraits that feel a little more intentional.
Most of the day is about letting things happen. I’ll move around quietly, keep an eye on the light and be ready when something happens. When it comes to portraits, I’ll give you a little direction and make the most of the setting, without turning it into a full-blown photoshoot.
The result is a gallery with the honest, unpredictable moments alongside photographs that feel considered, modern and unmistakably yours.

He captured our day with so much clarity and feeling
“Lewis was nothing short of incredible at capturing our special day”
-Morgan & Richard

I photograph weddings throughout Scotland, from city celebrations in Edinburgh and Glasgow to country houses, coastal weddings and venues further afield.
Every wedding moves differently. I’m comfortable with changing light, unpredictable weather and days that don’t quite go to plan, keeping things relaxed while still creating strong, intentional images.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s photographs that feel like your day, captured with a sharp editorial eye.

What Is Editorial Wedding Photography?
Editorial wedding photography takes some of its influence from fashion and magazine photography, but it still needs to feel like a wedding.
For me, that means strong composition, good light and a little more intention when it comes to portraits, alongside the genuine moments happening throughout the day.
You’ll get direction when it helps, particularly with portraits and light, then I’ll step back and let things unfold. No constant stopping, no complicated posing and no need to perform for the camera.

Wedding photography that’s built around your day

Hate stiff, over-styled wedding photos?
Good.
I photograph weddings with an editorial eye, but without turning the day into a production.
You enjoy your day. I’ll step in when it adds something, step back when it doesn’t, and pay attention to everything happening around you.
There’ll be time for portraits, but you won’t spend your wedding being pulled away from your guests. The rest of the day is about being present, letting things happen and having a bloody good time.
The photographs should bring you back to how the day felt, while still looking awesome on your wall.
